A few Sundays ago, my photographer friend Lauren from Lauren Renee Designs and I were finally able to squeeze in a fun shoot into our busy schedules (I literally had to rush off to give a talk to 400 freshman at CMU, and she works full-time and also shoots in any/all free time so this was a miracle!). After changing and getting ready in the bathroom at Schenley Plaza, she took some yoga photos for me, and then we swapped roles. As some of you may know, I love ANYTHING AND EVERYTHING BOHO, and I was actually able to re-use the garland on the rowboat from my own engagement shoot to make a flower crown for Lauren! She originally brought a white dress, but we decided that this pink dress from Lulu’s (www.lulus.com), the one I wore for my engagement shoot also, was much more fun and flowy. I absolutely loved the way these turned out, and it also helps when your model is gorgeous! Doesn’t she look like a fairy princess wandering through a forest? We are planning a “real” styled shoot sometime in the fall, but not bad for being thrown together last minute eh?
You might recognize Andy from a previous portrait session I shot on the day he competed in a Pittsburgh body building competition (https://evalinphotography.wordpress.com/2014/05/05/andyrose/). With his spray tan faded, wearing more clothes, and arm candy by his side, we set out to Highland Park for an engagement shoot with his beautiful fiance Shean.
These two are just the sweetest. Since they LOVE working out (Andy is a personal trainer, and they actually met at the gym), we had to squeeze some pull-ups and dips at the end of our session!
I am so excited to share the this engagement shoot with you! Jake & Antonina are one of those couples that you can just tell are SO IN LOVE. I even started tearing up while editing this shoot because they were just so darn cute (disclaimer: One Republic’s “Good Life” started playing on Pandora while I was doing this so that may have been the tipping point).
Thanks to all the houses who let us borrow their doorsteps for this shoot!
Last week, I had the pleasure of shooting this beautiful couple, Nicole & Shane! They drove all the way from DC since Shane is a Pittsburgh native, so they wanted to bring some of Pittsburgh into their engagement photos. Nicole & I know each other from our days at Carnegie Mellon, but I had never met Shane until our shoot. He had proposed a few weeks ago at their favorite dog park in DC, with a friend hiding behind the trees to document the whole thing. He then surprised Nicole with a party afterward with all of their friends. How romantic! We started in the Mexican War Streets in the North Shore, headed over to the park, and of course had to end on the Andy Warhol Bridge (what Pittsburgh shoot is complete without a bridge?). You could definitely feel the love between these two, and I wish them nothing but the best as they start their lives together!
